Hello! so nice to hear from readers on the blog! Personally, I think the Lake is not very warm this time of year. My daughter is 10 and she does not like swimming in it in December. I would recommend you to go through the Athens guide list on my blog and plan activities around the city center. These days, the city is very festive. For a 10 year old, I could recommend several outdoor activities such as an Escape Room Adventure on the streets of Athens, an Olympics Games Workout for the whole family inside the old stadium or a bike tour for families. If you are not looking for organized activities, you should definitely visit the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, a must for every visitor in Athens. A visit the War Museum is nice for kids because of the many plans outside in the courtyard. What are your family interests? Food, Mythology, Outdoors?

My kids accompany me on all the outings because it is the only way to get an honest review. As they are no in school, most of the recent activities on my blog are focussed on school-aged children but I look forward to when they are older and review the teen-specific side of Athens!

This is correct unfortunately. And this means that in the summer months when it is busy, you still need to wait. I have not realized that because we always visit off season when there are no lines. Unless you book a guided tour, there is indeed a wait. I will add this to my blog because this system is unfriendly towards families with children.
