Also known as Knight’s Island, Rhodes is a blend of medieval architecture, amazing beaches, an incredible history, and stunning scenery. It is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Greece, and it’s easy to see why. With vast sandy beaches and clear waters, beautiful resorts, and gorgeous Greek delicacies, it is a fantastic place for a family trip. There are many hotels and resorts to choose from and that is why we’ve listed the best family hotels in Rhodes in this article.
Best Family Hotels in Rhodes
We recently visited amazing Rhodes and stayed at the waterfront luxury Grecotel Lux Me Dama Dama resort in Kallithea. That was a great base to relax and explore the island. Because the resort is located on a long and wide beach of golden sand, but near the historic Old Town. During our stay in Rhodes, we created a list of fun things to see and do for kids in Rhodes. We also had the chance to explore some other hotels and resorts on the island. Many have fun water slides or water parks, ideal for a family vacation. They are listed here below.

1. Sentido Asterias Beach Resort – Afantou
With an outdoor pool and great children’s playground, Sentido Aserias Beach Resort is a gorgeous family hotel in Rhodes, situated just 13 miles from Rhodes Town. Guests can enjoy a private beach area and an on-site restaurant and bar. If you fancy something active, then bike hire or tennis is available, or whilst the grown-ups relax at the spa and wellness center there is a kids club for the little ones.
2. Helea Family Beach Resort – Kallithea
Helea Family Beach Resort is a stunning 5-star hotel in Kallithea Rhodes. It features an outdoor swimming pool, and family rooms and is directly on the beachfront. Guest rooms also have a fridge which is helpful when traveling with children. Rooms will also have a kettle, flat screen tv and some have gorgeous sea views. The location is highly rated by guests and you have a choice of beautiful beaches nearby.
3. Olympic Palace Hotel – Ixia
The 5-star Olympic Palace Hotel enjoys a prime location in Ixia, only meters from the beach. The hotel offers 3 fine dining restaurants as well as a Mexican a la carte, La Tonda Pizza and Pasta, and an International/Mediterranean restaurant also. There are 2 swimming pools and a separate children’s pool. For the active family, there is a tennis court, volleyball, table tennis, and mini golf. A brilliant addition to this hotel is the themed escape room and video games room with the very latest video consoles and VR experience.
4. Porto Angeli – Archangelos
Porto Angeli is home to its own private sandy beach, 2 outdoor adult pools, and 3 children’s pools. You can keep all the family occupied with one of the many leisure activities such as tennis, football, shuffleboard, and archery. A disco is also on twice a week. As well as all this there are daytime activities, evening entertainment with shows, and live music events.
5. Electra Palace Hotel – Ialyssos
The stunning beachfront Electra Palace offers guests elegant rooms with satellite TVs, luxury bathrooms, and a minibar. Within the lush gardens is the free-form swimming pool with water features and bridges. Next to the main pool is the children’s pool. As this hotel is right on the beach it is easy to access with children and strollers, making it a great family hotel in Rhodes. There are 3 restaurants to choose from, including Italian and Chinese cuisine.

6. Atrium Palace Thalasso Spa Resort And Villas – Kalathos
Situated just 3.7 miles away from the picturesque Lindos, the beautiful Atrium Palace Resort offers a variety of accommodations from rooms to villas. Children have a large choice of what to do there including games and activities provided by the animation team. They also have their own pool and can run around in the playground. For bigger kids (age 14 and above) and adults, there is a fully equipped fitness center, the opportunity to swim in the large indoor and outdoor pools, and enjoy the tennis court.
7. Atlantica Plimmiri – Plimmiri
Located next to the beach, Atlantica Plimmiri offers 5-star accommodation in Plimmiri and features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and garden. The main feature of this hotel is its brilliant water park, something that all children (and many adults!) will love. A buffet, continental, or Full English/Irish breakfast is available for guests.
8. Atrium Prestige Thalasso Spa Resort & Villas – Lakhania
With a stunning beachfront location, this stunning 5-star resort is close to Prassonisi and has a large infinity pool, a variety of dining options, and large guest rooms. welcome basket with local wine and fresh fruit is offered to all guests. Children will enjoy the playground and mini golf, whilst adults will love the pool and spa. There is free parking on site and complimentary 2-way transfers to Prasonisi.
9. Atlantica Dreams Resort – Gennadi
The stunning Atlantica Dream Resort is a 5-star hotel in Gennadi, 650 yards from Gennadi Beach. The Resort offers evening entertaining, complimentary breakfast, and a children’s playground. You can also enjoy a game of tennis or table tennis, or simply relax in the pool. There are 3 restaurants on-site, Kouzina Restaurant, Mesogeios Restaurant, and Caprice.
10. Melenos Art Boutique Hotel – Lindos
If you don’t opt for a large resort, have a look at Melenos Art Boutique Hotel. Guests at this 5-star accommodation will get the chance to stay in a traditional Greek hotel, with stunning architecture and a beautiful authentic feel. Families will love the complimentary American breakfast during their stay. There is also an open-air restaurant with samples of some Greek flavors and authentic Lindian recipes. Upon arrival, guests are offered welcome drinks, a bottle of wine, and a fruit basket.
11. Rhodos Bay Hotel and Spa – Ixia Beach
The historic Rhodos Bay Hotel and Spa became part of the H Hotels Collection in 2024. Guests at this hotel may select anything from sea view family suites with private pool to spacious swim-up rooms and family bungalows overlooking the sea or gardens. Other family features are its proximity to the beach, just 164 feet from Ixia Beach as well as the indoor and outdoor pools.
