Beaches in Greece are usually winners in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards. This year recognized four Greek beaches as some of the world’s and Europe’s finest, with two also earning spots on the list of top sustainable beaches.

These annual accolades celebrate the best in travel, from destinations to beaches and beyond, based on TripAdvisor’s user reviews and ratings.

Falassarna Beach in Crete continues to impress, securing the title of the 19th-best beach globally and the 6th in Europe for another year. Visitors are captivated by its unique pink sands, the azure sea, dramatic mountain backdrops, and breathtaking sunsets.

Falassarna is a renowned beach located on the northwest side of Crete, Greece. It’s known for its long sandy shores and clear turquoise waters, making it a popular destination for both locals and visitors. The beach is situated approximately 52 km from the city of Chania and is part of a protected nature reserve, offering stunning sunset views and a tranquil atmosphere.

Myrtos Beach (pictured above this post) in Kefalonia is not only the 23rd best beach worldwide and the 8th in Europe but is also celebrated for its sustainability, ranking 8th globally. It’s known for its picturesque setting that promises tranquil beach days, thanks to its less crowded nature. Galissas Beach in Syros joins Myrtos in sustainability, placing 5th.

Myrtos Beach is located in the region of Pylaros, on the north-western side of Kefalonia island in the Ionian Sea of Greece. It is famed for its stunning white pebbles and crystal-clear turquoise waters, set against the backdrop of tall marble cliffs. The beach is accessible via a steep and winding road with breathtaking views, especially at sunset.

The European top 25 list also features Anthony Quinn Beach in Rhodes and Matala Beach in Crete, ranking 12th and 14th, respectively, highlighting their allure among Europe’s best beach destinations.

Anthony Quinn Beach, named after the famous actor, is a picturesque cove located on the eastern coast of Rhodes, near Faliraki. It’s known for its emerald green waters and lush greenery, which contribute to its stunning beauty. The beach is about 4 kilometers south of Faliraki and roughly 15 to 17 kilometers from Rhodes Town, depending on the route. It’s a popular spot for snorkeling and diving, thanks to its clear waters and interesting underwater scenery.
