Greek Carnival Dates in 2025 In 2025, IApokries is from Sunday February 9th to Sunday March 2nd. Tsiknopempti (Burnt Thursday) is Feb 20th. Preparing for Lent Greek Carnival or Apokries is a family celebration with street parties, parades, and masquerades. Carnival ( from Latin: carne and vale = goodbye to meat) marks the days before the fasting begins.
